The Cure '23 Tour

Post by Boxorain » Fri Mar 10, 2023 10:26 pm

Big influence on me through HS and College. Lots of memories and stories attached to their music. Along with The Smiths... bigtime...or rather Bigmouth Stikes Again :hop

And as most of you know here, I rarely bang on any human being for making a profit while they can...as long as they still provide a fair option for the vast...ie, $59 - $79 lawns offered by Deadco :dance

But I gotta admit, it is nice to see Authenticity. True Accountability. Realness. No BS. The Cure promising NO flex pricing / no platinum...for a tour that will have a huge demand.

Unlike Springsteen singing about jobless Johnny on the account of the economy...and as I cringe to say...rich man in his summer home, singing just leave well enough alone....

Exactly...cuz when it benefits YOU...its an easy excuse to put your hands up...while pointing the finger...ughh. And as a human, very hard not to do. But still BS if we're being real. That's why GD records / tickets was started. Same story throughout Eternity. Money and power rule the moment...but always fail the soul. Human flaw. Rules for thee, not for me...

And zero hard feelings towards GD...how could one? Nothing but Thank You's :guitarred. Altho Transparency and Honesty is Noble Indeed...

The truth can be daunting...but the truth of any high demand tour is the band can call the shots cuz w/out them...TM has nothing. Fundamental law of biz. And it is all biz...to Jer's displeasure.

Bravo to the Cure...I hope others take notice. :clap

I've seen the Cure. Mrs. E is a huge fan. They're great.

BTW I'm a huge Smiths fan. I was lucky enough to see them is '85. Made me a lifelong fan.

Yup....HUGE Smiths fan. Still in my regular rotation. Seeing em in '85...wow, that's when they were full of piss and vinegar!!

It was the only time I ever saw the audience push back the security at the Tower Theater. Normally that was a really tight scene. That night, however, all the aisles were filled with people and when the security tried to clear them out they refused to go. They just stared at the guards and simply refused to move. And there were way more people than guards so eventually the guards just gave up.

And the Smiths were full of piss and vinegar. By the end of the show a good portion of the crowd had jumped on the stage and were dancing around with the band. It got to the point where all you could see of the musicians was Johnny Marr's hand occasionally flying up to strike a chord and Morrissey's hand occasionally shaking his microphone in the air. I've never seen anything like that.

So much for the fees, lol.

Well I was noticing the other night, for instance, that when I'm going through pistachios, opening pistachios, that the hard to open ones, I don't bother with them anymore
