Thanks for driving the bus again, miner!! You've been wonderful at the wheel this tour!
I'm hoping to listen tonight, but not only is my cable/internet still out, now our cell service was out today until just a few minutes ago. Hoping that hangs in there for the night. At least I've got good basement band music at the moment. Though their first set was a chainsaw jam, cutting firewood for the poor drummer who's still without power. So I could definitely have it worse!!

My first show was a Day on the Green at Candlestick Ballpark in SF, 1973. Without knowing the effect i took all of a 4-way hit of window pane. Within 20 minutes my hands were crushing the cups of beer i had just purchased. The Beach Boys played first, Was nothing like their records, speeding up, slowing down, sound swirling around the quadrophonic speaker system. What the Hell. Had to head to highest point in the stadium for a bit. Said if i survive this i'll never do it again... sound of the bands made no sense... don't know what they played ... But by the end of the concert, i had run down to the outfield near the band, dancing to the best song i had ever heard in my life.... doot da doot. Sunshine day dream, doot de doo, walking in the tall trees...

I also got dosed at my first Dead show, Philadelphia Civic Center, 1974. In true Prankster fashion someone threw it in my Coke. What I most remember was the Seastones segment and feeling like I'd been dropped into a completely different universe. It was some night and a good portion of the show was released on Dick's Picks 31.

OK, it took me 3 tries to post this, don't think my intermittent cell connection is going to allow for streaming tonight. We took a drive a bit ago to find a stronger connection and saw the transformer on a pole just down the road from us, and right next to a big cell tower, was on fire. I'm amazed and grateful we at least have power!
On a happier note, when turned on our local NPR station in the car they were just introducing a cut from the Wolf Bros live and talking about tomorrow's show. That was serendipitous!

Big time! The largest accumulation in 50 years, about .8". Had to clear a tree to get to the main road on Thursday. But we've got heat and power which is more than several of our friends have. We just have no internet or TV amd now today for some reason my Verizon service is going in and out. But after all my whining, it's working now for Bertha!! Thanks for letting me whine, guys!
