Sometimes when I wonder what music to listen to next, I like to pull out an old classic rock album. Something over 20 years old and something other than the Grateful Dead.
So I go to the CD rack and pull something out.
It could be decades since I last listened to it.
Some old school ‘60’s Beatles, Hendrix, Stones, Zep, Santana and the Who.
Or some Little Feat or Elvis Costello from the 70’s.
Or maybe the Radiators, Prince or Cyndi Lauper from the 80’s,
Or even into the 90’s with Wilco or Radiohead.
A great album that sat on the rack waiting 10 or 20 some years to be heard again. I'm sure most of us are old enough to have taken this little ritual audio trip back in time.
My last pick was Jethro Tull’s “Aqualung” from 1971, my junior year in high school.
It was a favorite to play for parties, on a Sunday, or the back side of an acid trip.

Van Halen 1984 was my last new vinyl album purchase before CD's. Ironically it got put away and was still in mint condition when Eddie went back to interstellar space. Shine on.

In the category of classic pop music, my guilty pleasure is listening to supermarket background music from the 1970s on YouTube.
