Tedesski Trucks

Post by Radley911 » Wed Jan 15, 2020 4:26 pm

I just discovered them somehow. Don't know how they stated off my radar so long. Derek has a more specialized style than anyone else today. Because he uses a slide almost exclusively, he is basically playing a fretless guitar. Took me a minute to believe a women could be a real blues singer (Janis aside). Susan is a tremendous vocalist. 2 good songs to get introduced: "Darlin' be home soon" and "Midnight in Harlem".
They are more an ensemble than a band really. Derrick does NO vocals, they have male vocalists, and a horn section. Like Van does a lot, and Derricks idol BB King (rip)
If you are interested in how intertwined these guys are with others mentioned. Warren plays as a guest commonly, Warren and Derrick and Otiel were in the Allmans together.even saw Susan Tedesski do Love Light with Bobby and some other guys.

Fantastic band and great live - a real treat live actually.

Fantastic reaction vid to Midnight in Harlem. (This guy is one of my favorites to watch on YouTube for reaction vids)
