In the spirit of Woodstock and the 50 year Anniversary, I was caught up emotionally watching the film and remembering that time as it means to me so very much. I managed to record another Dark Star on August 16th. All of my DS recordings are done in one take - warts and all. No editing or software is used. This is organic Old School Style recording. I hope you guys enjoy the jam. Please leave a comment, so I know what your thought are. I can take criticism.

Very nice! It would be cool to have our own Terrapin Nation Band somehow. We have a lot of talent around here, musical and otherwise.
As another musician, I'm curious about your gear. I play Heritage LP and 335 style guitars. Also a Gibson Les Paul Special and a Telecaster. I admit to a PRS McCarty as well.
I have several amps, but my mighty little Champ II is perfect for basement jams. For more power I have a Deluxe Reverb and Mesa DC-5.
I use a a Carvin LB-70 and Carvin amp for bass.
No criticism, but just one more question. Without vocals, isn't it a Dark Star Jam?
Whatever you call it, jam on dude and shine your light.

Hello Tone.
On my Dark Stars, I started off with Les Paul's. By Phase 17 a stock Eric Johnson Strat. The amps at the time were mainly a 40 watt custom Tweed Twin, by Pure sixty four and a Vintage sound 20 watt Princeton.
I started my Dark Stars in September of 2017 to April 2020 and the equipment would slightly change. Then Covid hit and I am still trying to get back to music.
They are certainly Dark Stars, I just don't sing the lyrics, because it is improvised and the singing section is a particular exact refrain.
I simply play an interpretation of the composition. Right or wrong, to me DS is a mood and a feeling. I think Jerry got a little tired of singing this one. His enthusiasm for the lyrics were strongest in 1968 and 1969.
Absolutely. Especially in context of your performances. Unlike set lists or in Deadbase, there is no need to differentiate from a rendition with vocals.
You have good taste in gear as well as music.
