Red Rocks Before the Music

Post by SunshineSue » Wed May 15, 2019 2:04 pm

Earlier today, Nugs tweeted the top picture and I was so intrigued I had to go look for some more. Too bad they're not in color, but it's still fascinating to see those beautiful, magical rocks before the amphitheater was there. And speaking of the amphitheater itself, let's hear it for another fine project brought to you by the hard work of the CCC! :sunshine :geek:

Come for DSO in early September. Two shows at the Boulder Theater, and one at RR. Swanky!

On my bucket list as well. Although I will be in Colorado for the first time this summer, I would have preferred a red rocks run.

I was just thinking the other day about what it would have been like in the land before time.
Funny how small the first picture makes it appear to be.
I love the thought of someone seeing that view and having the desire and motivation to turn it into a godly acoustic sound realm even more than its existence itself.
Kinda a shame the bands that get booked there. Seems to go to waste most of the time but indeed a magical place when not.

Is it hard to breath there as reported or fake news?

If you're in average shape or better, most "flatlanders" that I've talked to, takes about a day, to a day and a half to get acclimated. If below average shape, one will be laboring

I'd love to see a Red Rocks show too. Mrs. E caught the GD there in the 80s and said it was magnificent.
