Bob Playing the Pathway to Paris Benefit Concert 9/14/18

Post by SunshineSue » Wed Jul 11, 2018 6:26 pm

Bobby will be performing along with a great line up at the 4th annual Pathway to Paris benefit that caps off the Global Climate Action Summit being held in San Francisco in September. Should be a great show raising funds for some great organizations! :sunshine

The fourth annual Pathway To Paris concert will be held at the Masonic in San Francisco on September 14. Organizers of the event, which caps the Global Climate Action Summit, confirmed the lineup. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to, Pathway to Paris, and the United Nations Development Programme.

Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir and legendary singer-songwriter Patti Smith will headline Pathway To Paris ’18. Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer Eric Burdon, Tenzin Choegyal, Ethiopian performer Imany and Pathway to Paris Founders Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon are also among those aboard.

Renowned artist Olafur Eliasson has prepped choreography that will engage audience members to create an interactive collective artwork. The crowd will be asked to hold up a Little Sun solar lantern with the aim of showcasing a visually striking solar-powered “sunrise” which raises awareness for climate action and energy equality.

Pathway To Paris aims to celebrate climate action. The concert “will focus on the potential for cities to push for, achieve, and go beyond the climate targets highlighted in the Paris Agreement” as per a press release. “In the world of music, the best way to improve is through collaboration. This is the same with the critical issue of climate change,” Jesse Paris Smith said. “We must join together to make this the most ambitious collaboration of our century. We will not be able to implement crucial and challenging solutions to climate change, plastic pollution, and all urgent environmental problems as long as we stand divided. Inseparable from the issue of climate change is the need for world peace, global communication, and an international collaboration unmatched by any event in human history.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 13 at 10 a.m. PT via Live Nation. ... is-concert

Maybe Patti Smith will tell her GD Fillmore East story like she did at the 1979 Umass show.
Tell me a lie and I will swear, i'll swear it's True
