A couple smaller points that might have gone unnoticed:

1. John Mayer wore a pair of white Nikes with the big Oregon Ducks "O" on the tongue, prominently displayed (I'm a Duck alum, can't help but appreciate that given Nike started at UO);

2. On one of the large overhead light sets at Autzen there is a huge osprey nest. During Sugaree, that osprey was circling and circling and circling for soooo long. It almost seemed like the bird was having its own fun to the music.

3. Bobby's comment during the first set about 'for those folks listening on the radio, this is what's known as dead air" may have simply come across as a joke about how long they were taking between songs. But, in fact, it was a subtle nod to KLCC's local radio show "Dead Air" which Downtown Deb has been doing faithfully for 27 years in Eugene. She's simply awesome. She does such a great job. There was a time back in the 90s when my roommate and I would catch the show every single week and just sit at home and have a 2-hour listening party. I thought it was particularly cool of Bobby to do that. (for reference: http://klcc.org/programs/dead-air )

That Eugene show was special. Straight. Up. Special. The love and respect flowed from band to audience back to band and back to audience. Eugene (and Veneta by extension) has always had, and will always have, a special place in deadheadland. It did not disappoint. I'm still getting chills thinking about it. Saturday night will long be a special memory.

Love y'all, my fellow deadheads. My cup runneth over right now.

It was special. Been 6 shows on this tour and this was a good one. Did anyone connect the Dart Star in to EL Paso from the 1972 show???

I thought it was just a nod to the times he has said it before, namely during a certain spring 77 show ;) thanks for the heads up!

Oh yeah. 8/27/72 was the obvious reference after the show. I actually picked up on it during the first set as I started to notice it was a real 70s setlist. As soon as I caught that, I pulled out the phone and looked up the Field Trip setlist for the benefit for the Springfield Creamery. Not in the same order, but Deal, Sugaree, Me n My Uncle, BTW, Saturday Night all made it pretty clear they were on that vibe. When the DS>El Paso came out 2nd set, it was obvious they were paying homage to a classic show in Dead and Eugene (Veneta) history.

Nice!!!! Didn't think about those other progressions. Yep. I went to the 10 year in 82 and Saturday felt a lot like that.

Carlo and Playful Prudence got to ride the rail in Eugene. Will be listening to this one over and over again.

I was here and looking for pictures or videos of me and my husband. We were in section 11 the first half then 12 the second. I didn't get one picture of us enjoying our date. He has passed away now. And I've looked online. I only found one picture of the back of us.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Jward1020, you've got all my deepest and most sincere sympathy!! If I were in your position, I'd be doing the same thing. Memories of good times can be so comforting when you're hurting, or when you just want to feel a bit better reliving the fun times.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to post this in General Discussion, our "front page", just in case someone here has some pictures of those sections. My fingers are crossed we can find something, even if it's a long shot. :crossed

Thanks for joining Terrapin Nation, I hope we can help in this search or at least provide some pleasant distraction!! :sunshine :bigheart
