Today we have a Phil vid from last decade. Friends that night were Chris Robinson, Larry Campbell, John Molo, Mookie Seigel, and Barry Sless. I love the Lovelight > Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms > Lovelight. For set 1, the concert video starts around 4 minutes. Phil and Friends 11/29/05 in Pittsburgh:

This show, I just read, had an after party for the ages. Tapers in the hotel room with reel-to-reels, all copying the soundboard patch received from Healy. Anyone there? Anyone in that group of tapers that nearly got busted?! They were visited by the cops, who retreated after seeing all the taping equipment. Fun story. Celebrating 40th anniversary of 12/1/79 Pittsburgh:

Happy 40th anniversary to 12/3/79 in Chicago! A hot show, as has been discussed with the release of Dave's Picks 31. And another in a string of the Grate December 79 shows:

Furthur, I have been listening to 12/3/81 in Madison WI. GRATE show. Highlights included Deep Elem through the end of set 1, He’s Gone with a grate refrain section, Spacey Spanish Jam > Other One tease that segues perfectly unto Truckin, complete with a whistle intro and sex change verse. On video, this is a fun watch, with Jerry and Bob very animated.

Started off my day with Valley Road from 12/4/90 - happy belated birthday to Bruce! - and now I'm continuing the 40th anniversary celebration of Chicago 79 with 12/4/79:

Wrapping up the 40th anniversary of the 79 Chicago run today; Bob makes the "Just Exactly Perfect Brothers Band" comment before Easy to Love You, and don't sleep on the Shakedown > Samson! Here's 12/5/79 at Uptown:

I've been listening to 12/6/89 from Oakland today. Happy 30th anniversary :listen This was an earthquake relief benefit show. Also, this was the 20th anniversary of Altamont, so that's a dark 50th anniversary happening today as well. Shakedown starts a bit sleepy but wakes up after the 3rd verse and refrain section, Scarlet flows into Sugar Mag nicely, and then SM ends abruptly before Ship starts. Just a few highlights from my listening so far. Clarence Clemons joins on sax during set 2. I thought I heard a horn during the Scarlet jam, but figured it was Jerry's MIDI. Looking forward to hearing him on Ship, Terrapin, SOTM, and Black Muddy River. Edit: WOW that Terrapin outro jam!!!
