There are a lot of bands within the Grateful Dead culture. It's the mother seed, you know? Unashamedly, I think we wear it on our sleeves how influential Jerry and the Grateful Dead's music culture is to this band.

It's the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.

I've always felt that blues, rock 'n' roll and country are just about a beat apart.

When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.

Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn't matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

We get shy about saying things like I love you. Life is so short. It's crazy that we hesitate to express our true thoughts to each other.

To me it seems that to give happiness is a far nobler goal that to attain it: and that what we exist for is much more a matter of relations to others than a matter of individual progress: much more a matter of helping others to heaven than of getting there ourselves.
