Bob Weir & Wolf Bros. Lockn' Festival, 8/25/2019

Post by SunshineSue » Sun Aug 25, 2019 4:31 pm

Time to get Bob together with his Wolf Bros, Jay Lan and Don Was, for what's sure to be a couple of stellar sets to top off this year's Lockn' Festival. To make it all even more fun, for the second set the guys will be joined by the incredible Susan Tedeschi and Mikaela Davis! Show time is listed as 9:15, but they're running behind by about 10 minutes as of mid-afternoon, so consider it festival timing. In any case, there's free video so everyone can watch the festivities live! :dance

I'm ready for Bobby! Though Jason Isbell is doing a nice Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac cover of Oh Well here and showing off his Les Paul skills. :guitarred

Hey, Now! Greetings & Salutations, Terrapin Nation! :waving

Had to drop-in and check-in (or was that “tune-in and turn-on”?) and give a shout-out and Big “THANKS” to :sunshine Sue for driving the TN “Party Van” and posting a Setlist thread for Bob & The Wolf Brothers’ performance tonight to close out Lockn :guitarred :woo

...I’ll be along for the ride, tonight with you, Sue, watching the kind Free-stream, as I have a bit of a respite and don’t have work until mid-morning tomorrow...

No danger of over-tempoing :)

...maybe it’s a lot of moisture in the air that’s got Bob’s gee-tar so badly out of tune.. :| :doh

Add: I don’t believe it’s a particularly/unusually humid late summers’s night in the Shenandoah Mtns—I mean Bob IS wearing a REAL (and not a Sears) poncho after all, so it can’t be that warm, right? :think

Bueller?...

Looks like it is pretty humid, 85%, though luckily the temp is 69 degrees currently. That could well be messing with his strings. Plus that odd not-standard-A440 tuning can't help either. :think

Still, sounding pretty good! I'm really looking forward to hearing what Susan and Mikaela bring to the party, though! :dance
