Favorite live albums?

Yes, I love the old classic rock stuff: The Who Live at Leeds, Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East, Hendrix Band of Gypsies, Rolling Stones Get Yer Ya-yas Out, Little Feat Waiting For Columbus, Led Zeppelin Song Remains the Same, Fleetwood Mac at Boston Tea Party, Govt. Mule With A Little Help From Our Friends, Sco-Mule and too-many-to-count Grateful Dead concerts.

My desert island picks are:

John Coltrane: The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings

Bill Evans: The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings

Wes Montgomery: Smokin at the Half Note

Miles Davis: Pangea

I'm bound by Michigan State Law to post this classic, Bob Seger Live Bullet, released while I was attending the same high school as Bob had a few years earlier. And I still know every word from every song, including that which often had to be edited out by radio stations.

“I was reading in ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine the other day where they said Detroit audiences are the greatest rock and roll audiences in the world. I thought to myself, shit, I’ve known that for 10 years.” :thumbsup

I would add the expanded "Live in New York" album. More than just Titties and Beer and Illinois Enema Bandit, the instrumentals are fantastic. The Black Page, Purple Lagoon, Peaches and Regalia, etc.

Along with the expanded Live In New York mentioned above I'll add 2 more great ones from slightly earlier
The Roxy Performances
Halloween 73

Neil Young & Crazy Horse live at the Fillmore East deserves a mention.

Steve Kimock - East Meets West and Live in Colorado vol. 1 and 2 are some really good ones
