Rolling Stones 2019

Post by Denver Man » Tue Nov 20, 2018 10:06 pm

I've never seen them, it's been awhile since they've been to the mile high city, and needless to say I'm obsessed about going to this show. :guitarred :dance

Well, 13 years since their last Colorado appearance, I think there will be a lot of local interest in this show! I am trying to get a read from other boards about whether you buy the tickets at on sale date or closer to show date. I saw the stones on the steel wheels tour at Foxboro 89 and it was pretty darn good. Mcnichols arena probably around 98, tons of tickets available in the lots, it was off the hook. Tried to get a ticket at their last Denver show in 2005, but not a ticket to be hard for under 250, so I went home... :x

I saw (heard) them in '78 at Folsom Field when Peter Tosh opened for them, then again one of the two shows in '81, when if my memory serves me well , George Thorogood opened for them again at Folsom Field. See what $100 can get....if anything. That is Memorial Day weekend. We shall see.

I can't even imagine enjoying a show surrounded by an entire crowd of people who would blow that much on tickets

Did my fair share of stadium shows in the 80's & 90's. With the exception of Folsom Field (backyard show, relatively small), stadium shows aren't a selling point for me. Overpriced talkers to the nth degree for this tour, would be my guess. Usually holds true for large venue shows. Hoping for a low end miracle though.

I've read the best ticket to buy for a Stones show is the "lucky dip" ticket

It's the Stones so I would expect a stadium and stupid high ticket prices. As such I expect a full on cluster f&%k. But sometimes, every now and then, I can suck it up for the chance to see legends. Metallica at the stadium last year was better than expected (imo). I just hope I get a pre sale from the Denver Broncos. :dance-turkey

If you haven’t seen the Stones, I’d highly recommend em. Just for the energy alone. Mick is in better shape than most 40 year olds. It’s astonishing how much energy he burns on stage.
I hate to lose a Saturday going to Gillette but maybe Philly midweek will work.
I’d love to see a Keef solo tour one of these years...just finished his bio. Lengthy but a very good read packed with mucho history
