I saw 2 1978 Spring shows, the drumz were a full band affair, Jerry on steel drums, Donna glass of wine, stuff attendance required. No other family, this is very cool

WOW!!! Just simply WOW!! I thoroughly enjoyed that show, the band just had such joy at playing at Red Rocks and the positive energy was palpable. Thanks for sharing the pictures, Denver Man and strangerinboulder, you guys sure caught an incredible experience!! I'm so thankful to Nugs for streaming it!

I feel bad for Lisa, but that's awesome Donna played with em.
I hope she sticks around for the week. I've never seen her live & didn't make it out last night but would love a pop in at Folsom if the heat doesn't get to her between now and then

I've sat literally everywhere in that place - 1st row (or I should say 2nd row, ADA is 1st row), middle, top, planters, stairs, back stage and imo the best spot is the NW corner of the top row. I'm not much of a down close, on the railing type guy especially at RR. I've had some absolute incredible experiences down close there and I can totally see the appeal, but I'll take the top row any day of the week anymore. The view from up top is unmatched.

They didn't do " It's T for Texas" did they? I thought Mattson was gonna levitate in the second set. As usual, he crushed it. Extra points for donning a "Clash" shirt.Denver Man wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 9:44 amComplete with the missed lyric in Minglewood BluesCrazy

Red rocks is well known for it's magic. Dinosaurs roamed there, Indian tribes, settlers, etc the energy that is trapped there in undeniable. Weather always does weird things there and it's like it too feeds off the red rocks energy. Where I'm headed with this rambling is that all night it felt like the sky was responding to the songs. (No I wasn't tripping
). The sunset was doing things I've never seen before. Only explanation is Jerry was up there. I love that picture. Just wish I was a better photographer

I couldn't believe DSO would miss a lyric but I noticed the drummers kinda smiled at each other. Then yesterday I listed to 7/8/78 and sure enough, same missing lyric.strangerinboulder wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 9:53 amThey didn't do " It's T for Texas" did they?
