While it's exciting to highlight one of the few shows with Till the Morning Comes, this is a somber post as well. Janis Joplin passed away on 10/4/70, a few hours south in L.A., while The Dead were at Winterland:

Today in 2013, Furthur ended 3 years of back to back tours at the Greek Theatre in L.A., the last night of their fall tour that year. I was in attendance! This was my last show, as the final Furthur shows occurred in January 2014 in Mexico. I think this is a top-notch show. Loved the Cumberland (WOW!) and Unbroken. I was excited for my first Corrina as well...lol

Feelin' Furthur as of late. Here's 10/7/11 from Santa Barbara. I miss these very-varied setlists. I mean, damn- look at that second set!

I can remember walking out of this show and the energy was palpable, no one wanted to go to sleep that night so we stayed up most of the night at the Holiday Inn and partied our asses off. Very nice 30th Birthday present from the boys.

Not sure what prompted us to go to these shows, but glad we did. Maybe it was to be able to say, "I've seen the Dead from Maine to California"? Nothing like waking up on the shore of Acadia national park to a sunny day with the Dead show the night before under your belt, lobstah in your belly (and smelling of it too), and then go see the best show I've ever witnessed. Thank you Larry the lobster.

Edit: Note, band appears on 10/12 video after 7:36
