D&C Tour Post-Op: The Songs They Didn't Play

Post by DeweyDeadhead » Thu Jul 11, 2019 4:08 pm

Wanted to do a little post-op on the D&C Summer tour regarding their repertoire. Now my count may be a bit off, but I’ve got them having played 106 songs over this tour (not counting A Love Supreme & Spanish Jam), which is down by a few songs over the last two years (granted, they played fewer shows during the trek). But I’m curious if you all were surprised by any of the songs that they DIDN’T play? Here’s a list (in no particular order):

1. Beat It On Down the Line
2. Corrina
3. Jack a Roe
4. Even So
5. Easy Answers :woo
6. Greatest Story Ever Told
7. Liberty
8. Passenger
9. Promised Land
10. Candyman
11. Little Red Rooster
12. Next Time You See Me
13. Werewolves of London
14. Wang Dang Doodle
15. Big Boss Man (they did play a few notes)
16. Maggie’s Farm
17. Mexicali Blues
18. Queen Jane Approximately
19. It’s All Over Now
20. Shakey Ground
21. Women Are Smarter
22. Johnny B. Goode

GSET, Liberty, Candyman (they haven’t played in 2 years), Big Boss Man, Women Are Smarter, Next Time You See Me, and Johnny B were surprise no-shows IMO. Thoughts?

Oh believe me, that list has been with me since May 31st and by they played the 5th Scarlet in 2 weeks, I was quite irritated.

However, here's hoping for more of these on the fall tour! :jumpclap :crossed

I want me some Wang Dang Doodle! Do yourself a solid and put your ears on Salt Lake City 2018. Miracle > Wang Dang Doodle was so well played. The entire show is a gem. :jumpclap

I'm very surprised Promised Land hasn't reappeared, that seems to be right in Mayer's wheelhouse. And I missed Passenger a lot. The other one that I thought for sure would come back, but to be honest didn't miss, was Corinna. They're got a lot of territory to cover, sure hope they come back to more of these, as well as working on new breakouts. :think
