I wouldn't be surprised. They still seem to like playing live. I've only seen them a couple of times but I've been really impressed. If they come around again, I'll be there.

Well this week they are putting out this massive video box, R40. All live stuff. So I imagine they're pretty inspired.

in the clockwork angels dvd extras, they talk about how they're "reinventing" their performances by introducing new things, and the humor between them on stage, they are tight, they are not planning to stop any time soon

I saw that tour twice and I definitely felt they were pushing the envelope. The string section was a nice addition that worked really well IMO and the setlist went for some more challenging material than on recent tours. That's not a band that's just coasting on past glories.

Not really into metal, but a metalhead friend turned me on to Dream Theatre. I'd go see them. More like heavy-Yes than heavy metal.

I like it if the vocals are sung when it gets to growly it gets more and more questionable for me.

I like classic and power metal bands like Judas Priest, Saxon, Motorhead, Sanctuary, Nevermore, Trouble and Gamma Ray among many others.

some of the metal shows I saw in the 80's are among the biggest and best productions I've ever seen
