I Love it! I Love Neal Casal & Wizard McDougal!

When I was watching, and recording (for personal use only :listen), those west coast shows... I pulled all their intermission music out and made a few separate mp3's out of those interludes,,,, I didn't know they were going to release that music, but I was trying to come up with names for the songs so I knew which was which when I wanted to play them again. Songs ended up with names like Franklin's Loser Devil, Rippling Roses, etc... (I'm just making those particular ones up, but I named 'em something similar based on what tunes I heard the essence of in each jam)

Anyways, I thought I'd drop this in here just in case it might be new to somebody...

This is is 90 minutes of GD tuning on their 1977 tours. It has a similar effect on my mind as Circles Around The Sun. But, (BIG BUT), The tuning '77 would sort of be like a night of endless foreplay, dry humping in your underwear... playing, "Just the Tip'....

Circles Around The Sun is more like Tantric Sex... find that groove and surf the edge of a smooth wave that never breaks... it's awesome what it does to my brain. I'd like to hook up to one of Mickeys brain scanners and see the difference between what a '74 dead show does and Circles Around The Sun does.... I'd bet Circles loads a bunch of dopamine up to the choke points, but just lets a small, steady, comfortable level pass the synapses, whereas the GD would build it up in much the same way... but at some point they just break the levee and let all them good things flood your mind at once. ..

Hope my analogy doesn't offend... just the best way I could describe what it actually does to my brain... neurologically speaking. :whistle

Awesome!! I'm jealous!

I was hoping Circles was going to make a surprise appearance at Lockn', but that's obviously not happening now. I must say.... a four night Circles Around the Sun run is just as tempting at Lockn this year! I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on Lockn, but now I have this to consider!

Moral of the story..... we need more dates!!

The Immovable Object album was released today!!

I just streamed it on Apple Music and think it's seriously fantastic. I can't wait to buy it! It's quite different than their original album Interludes for the Dead, but still has the exact same feel. My favorite song of the new album after one listen through is "Halicarnassus." The song gets super duper trippy. I'm very impressed with every song to be honest!

Give this one a listen as soon as you can, and I really hope they play some Midwest shows here soon!!!

I'm listening to Let It Wander right now. It sounds great with a definite 70's fusion vibe.
